NEMESIS, a new annual magazine/anthology devoted to original works of weird fiction, is now open for submissions. The editor, S. T. Joshi, seeks fiction only; no poetry, articles, or reviews. The magazine will pay 4 cents a word (first serial rights), up to a maximum of 8000 words. The deadline for submissions for No. 1 is August 31. Please send submissions to .

In terms of subject matter, we will cast as wide a net as possible. Almost any facet of weird fiction will be acceptable, from pure supernaturalism to psychological suspense. Lovecraftian fiction will not be emphasised; in addition, we are not much interested in imaginary-world fantasy of the Tolkien sort, sword-and-sorcery, or "extreme horror". Beyond that, we hope that the magazine will showcase the very broad scope of weird fiction.
