A second section takes up Lovecraft=s work a bit more freely, exploring among other topics, Lovecraft’s dramatic monologues, and the interrelationship between Lovecraft, Fritz Leiber, and Robert Bloch. The last section deals with several influences that Lovecraft felt in his creative life, especially his reactions to Latin and French Literature. All are marked by the deep insights, free-wheeling erudition and scholarly good humor which never fail to illumine Waugh’s work.
